Shapiro: ‘Blue Wave’ Looks Like It’s Barely Going to Be a Ripple

Many pundits are predicting a “blue wave” in this November’s midterms, with Democrats possibly gaining a majority in the House and the Senate.

Those predictions, however, might be a little premature, according to Ben Shapiro.

On “Fox & Friends” on Tuesday, Shapiro pointed out that Democrats’ lead in the generic ballot has shrunk from approximately 13 points to just three.

He said that’s because Democrats don’t have a message or an agenda other than attacking President Trump and pushing “intersectional identity politics.”

“The momentum is not on their side. That ‘blue wave’ looks like it’s barely going to be a ripple at this point,” Shapiro said.

He said that most of the rhetoric from the left is anti-Republican and anti-Trump, pointing to recent remarks from Rep. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) and Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-Calif.), who claimed that Republicans who don’t hold Trump accountable are “bums.”

“All they can do at this point is talk impeachment and ‘Republicans are bums,’ because if they actually start proposing policy, well, that would mean they’re normalizing the president by actually having normal policy discussions,” Shapiro said.
